Kristin A. Higgins, MD, recalls the lack of curative treatment options for patients who were not candidates for surgical resection and how the treatment landscape has changed for this patient population.

Now, with curative treatment options available with stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and with the immunotherapy after SBRT options currently being studied, Dr Higgins sees major improvements on the horizon in terms of survivability for patients with early-stage NSCLC.
