The association of weight gain with recurrence of breast cancer is understood through a series of similar patient encounters in 2014.

In response to four patients facing a return of their breast cancer while simultaneously experiencing weight gain, Dr Joyce O'Shaughnessy developed a proactive approach meant to engage this connection, including dietary and exercise strategies, and surveying relevant research in order to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
