Ann S. LaCasce, MD, MMSc, recounts a patient with stage IV mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) from the early days of her career and tracks his journey from initial treatment with the combination regimen R-CHOP to treatment with the CDK4/6 inhibitor palbociclib.
In tracing his progress, Dr LaCasce reflects on the incredible learning experience she had with this patient who was able to achieve disease control beyond expectations at the time. Dr LaCasce imagines what could have been had the patient survived to witness the evolution of the MCL treatment landscape.
